Quick Recipe for your resume

Many people believe in relations commonly known as PR (personal relations) and some believe in skills. Only few of them believe that resume has its own impression and it is the first thing that show you when you are not in front physically. Resume writing is an art; the better your resume is ….. Better your chances for an interview. We will continue with an example so that it will help you understanding things better.

Let’s take an example of Computer Networks student and start perceiving the fields he can apply. Under mentioned is the list where he can apply

1. Software Houses

2. Telecom sector

3. Consultancy firms

4. Educational institutions

5. Generically all companies

What we need to understand is that every sector has its own demands. The reason being, one should prepare his/her resume by understanding their needs and demands. If you are not well aware of industry’s demand and have sent your general resume then there are bright chances that you will miss interviewee list. First try to find specific sector’s demand, you can easily find these demands from their website or by calling their HR department.

Once you have their needs and demands list, update your resume in accordance with their demands. Your resume must have some or all under mentioned segments.

1. Objective

2. Skill Set

3. Education

4. Trainings

5. Certifications

6. Experience

7. References

More segments can be added with respect to your expertise and field of job. Try to find latest resume styles but those should be readable and professional. While making resume, let’s have my advice – Never write Lie in your resume because you will be answerable for what so ever you write in it. Furthermore, try to be as concise as you can without leaving basic demands of the employer and your major expertise. In last, I like to give a secret to you

“Employers usually look for men rather supermen so please don’t prepare education and expertise zoo in your resume. Be specific”
